Anthony:

Jeff:

yo and now we're dropping

Anthony:

that big that fake rocky trailer ship we had before

Jeff:

ladies and gentlemen boys and girls, not But yo, Episode 79

Anthony:

Glen Taylor Welcome to the coach's 79 Alright, there you go see?

Jeff:

Get it poppin let's welcome on man Mikey. She was going on home.

Mikey:

It's good guys back. Thanks for having me.

Anthony:

Mikey from Parts Unknown.

Jeff:

Well, I'm recovering from COVID But other than that I'm I'm alone.

Mikey:

I'm glad to hear that.

Jeff:

Are you man? He was traveling. He was in New York I

Mikey:

was traveling I was Oh yeah, I was fishing for COVID but didn't didn't catch didn't catch anything. We thought bait do we thought we did. We had like an exposure it was a friend who my wife's friend we went she's like the safest friend and hadn't been leaving the house totally safe. We went out for a hike outside of like 55 degrees. Three days later, she you know had like a positive COVID test and in the meantime, we have been like with my wife's 96 year old great aunt and like, we're like, fuck, dude, we just like killed your entire family. And we couldn't find a test or a home test like anywhere we spent the whole day in upstate New York trying to find it and I ended up having to drive like halfway to Rochester to get one and we were negative so

Jeff:

Oh, yeah. But was so true man. What you got going on? I heard you got a new podcast.

Mikey:

Yeah, we're actually just we're pivoting so Mikey and Ren stay in, which is our podcast was about food and but mostly about our fertility journey, we're actually going to pivot to we're going to call it now making an eat in and it's just going to be all food all the time. You know, it's just we're kind of like getting to the end of really wanted to talk about I think we kind of covered all the things that we wanted to in that in the fertility world and it's also just hard to get motivated to talk about that. So biggest thing in our life is food so we're going to be doing a whole bunch of stuff cooking but also work we're going to cook from cookbooks with the authors and you know have them on the show with us and tell a lot of stupid dick and fart jokes and and then hopefully not eat on microphone as much as we can. Because it's disgusting you

Jeff:

fatties believe it and what you got going on man? Talk to the people before we get into some real serious shit

Anthony:

getting real serious man fuck this country you're thinking about like I want to like see a podcast like like how far can go like where someone destroyed like the world's most illicit drugs and like let's get or like can you survive this like shoot like that whole plant like if I lived to be like 90 Like I really do hope and pray I lived to be 90 Like if I lived to be 90 like the first thing to do on my birthday at the age of nine I'm going to go smoke crack like this point look we're gonna roll the dice because he made it this far you would expect to make this far so I'm just a little bit and to see where it happens but outside of that what is what skies blue? Everybody's everybody's happy. That's a lie. Everybody happy? Hey, my happy mood this week. Meet Lodi Louisiana and like I know

Jeff:

Louie Anderson another person it was like wasn't there like a third person?

Anthony:

Probably be

Mikey:

in three hours every week. I saw that that dude from the that actor from the Marvel movies he got killed. Killed skin. Oh, yeah,

Jeff:

he was in moonlight right? I'm sorry, Moonlight or whatever.

Anthony:

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh, but this is the most whitest way to die.

Mikey:

I was getting hit skiing in Europe.

Anthony:

Didn't Sonny Bono run into a tree of

Mikey:

some juice? Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah.

Anthony:

It's a pretty finicky to die. Hilariously.

Mikey:

We've got a Caucasian casualties.

Jeff:

You starting to show a real perfect anchor. This is what we're going to talk about. You talk a shit about these white folks, but okay, let me give a shout out before we get to that Mingo shout out to our patrons. Oh, it's actually one of our patrons. Our patrons birthdays today. Shout out to Melissa to 38th birthday happy birthday I mean, she's still young, I

Mikey:

guess. Isn't 38 Yeah,

Anthony:

but you got to name her date of birth arguments in the social Shibata be jacked slow down.

Jeff:

Should we've given People's Government names out here man fucking government name Kaiser we weigh in on Kaiser we got this three way versus battle right between your three guys Mikey she and Kaiser You don't gotta warn right? Not that. I

Mikey:

know. A lot of law enforcement listens to this podcast. It's cola. Hayden is watching.

Jeff:

But let's get down to business man. Let's get down to business. And it's appropriate that you know, you said the comments you said about the white gentleman that just recently died because it's been brought to my attention and this is something that I have had in the back of my mind that I've been wanting to discuss with you. But now it's been brought to my attention recently by several of our listeners. And the general consensus is that my co host, Anthony seems to have a problem with white folks. And I've always brushed it off. I'm like, Well, you know, he's probably been through a lot as a black, you know, as a young black man and in this country, you know, he's probably been through a lot of racism, etc. He probably has, you know, a good story to tell him respect to that. I mentioned Bob Saget last week, and he brushed it off like, Fuck Bob Saget. I'm like, yo, Relax, man. What do you mean? That's my TV, dad. He laughs I lose no sleepover, Bob said we talk about him. And he's like, fuck, mmm. So every week you say some shit about white people. And then, you know, it brought to my attention. Like, wait a minute, Anthony hates white people. So let me just read some comments before we get into the topic. Because this is a this is a real serious conversation that I need you to be transparent and honest about if you if you will.

Anthony:

Read them off. Okay, well,

Mikey:

this comments the best the best of and hating, wait white people quotes?

Jeff:

No, these are comments that people set. Right. These are comments that people were, you know, one of one of our patrons and I won't I won't name nobody's names. Man, I'm

Mikey:

just gonna I'm just gonna say their animals are just gonna say their race. No.

Jeff:

Somebody reached out and said, Yo, I realized that ant seems to not give a shit about any white people. Another person respond to Yeah, he's racist. And then I said, you know, and his defense, I said, Well, he's probably had some bad experiences, you know, maybe he has, you know, an explanation, which I mean, I don't know, how can you defend that? But

Anthony:

I tried. I'm fine.

Jeff:

Then I got a comment that said, you name any white dude. And he always acts like, they're not important to me. I was like, hmm, there might be likes to this. Then I went on Twitter, and saw people saying the same shit. Somebody on Twitter said, there is clearly disdain, but it is based upon sound and real data. The shit he says about white folks is true for some not for all. Okay. Somebody else said, not in the episodes that I've heard, but then I'm pretty racist towards white folks myself.

Mikey:

I appreciate their honesty. I mean, it's funny, like being like a frequent co host of the show, I don't think of as being like they're saying that every time a white person comes up, dude, I was on the show recently, where he was talking about Adele. I was on the show recently where he was talking about, I mean, I don't know like Sky storage, but Betty White like, is not I don't know. Everybody's fucking racist a little bit doesn't fucking matter. And like, is it wrong to say that a lot of white people are stupid dicks? No.

Jeff:

And this is why I like having Mikey Xiang when we have these topics of racism because you get different perspective. We get a white man, we get a black man, we

Anthony:

get a Latino white cover.

Jeff:

I mean, right. So I just wanted you to clear the air. Explain yourself. Why you know what I mean? People are you're giving off the impression that you're either reverse racist or that you have a problem with white folks. Okay, etc. Okay, the floor is yours, sir. Make it simple as possible.

Anthony:

I'm gonna fuck about Nany motherfuckers. Let's talk to I have a problem with people generally as human beings got nothing to do with being racist might seem that way. But the file fucked up things. I call them out on all levels, rather white or black. But the thing about the reason I find the whole conversation about Bob said to be funny to me. He's like, Jeff says, like, no, does my TV dead? I'm like, Yeah, that's great. Well, you still have a hole as dad sitting right? Like, like, your dad exists, like, you don't need a fake TV debt. Because, like, let's not have anything against Bob Saget. I'm like, people get bent out of shape about the loss of like, fictional characters. There's going to be something I think coming on Showtime was a four part series starting January 30. That's going to talk about I think it's called we need to talk about cosmi Right I already told you my beef about cars but I don't protect Bill Bill rape them women. Like I'm not going to protect bill just because he wasn't some TV star. Sometimes. I don't give a fuck if you committed a crime. You're wrong. You're a terrible human being. But there's this schism, this this misunderstanding of like, what, how could that man do that? But I always tell people you're getting confused about this guy you see on TV. playing this character is just a guy on TV playing a character that's not really him. He's playing the perfect role. But it's an actor in a spot. So we don't know what kind of person he is what we do now, after everything else like that. And they did mention something about it that did find funny because let's say because we did create all these characters for the show. He could have been anything why did they have to be a gynecologist?

Mikey:

Hmm, everything about that, right? Wasn't

Anthony:

his wife, the wife the Lord, he could have been adopted. You could have been a surgeon could have been a dentist anything and we got to where we want to be. I just find it to be interesting. So to think that I I have anything against Wi Fi. But no, my thing is that I don't have anything against white people that a lot of people just refuse to call white people out for the fucked up things that they do. They just they just refuse to. But um, but my whole thing is that I have no I know they're white people in my life that I hold in the highest regard. There are black people in my life that I wouldn't spit on them if they weren't fire. So it has nothing to do a race if what you're doing generally as a person and I find it to be dismissive anything else like that I just don't really care that much about my culture, especially when a lot of the things that they said done copied, repackage reprogram has been of the culture of other people of color, and then they play it off as your own and everything is cool, but I'm sorry, why girls were not wearing free backs while ago is the hip thing it's not that but then you won't give us credit for it. They do the same thing on social media with you know, black tick tock is fighting back because you're stealing our dances and you're not giving us credit. But then people want to get in our hearts like no you shouldn't attack me you're being racist like No, you're wrong. So people are confused me being racist with me being wrong because I'm not racist. I'm just really really specific about who I think is wrong. And who I think is right and one thing about Danny tear like it's just the guy didn't care about he just a guy does on TV to me, I'm seeing him I have a different impact for others and people might find it insensitive but your your openness to hear my perspective on in my perspective one of that he doesn't do it on TV it's like caused me to do it on TV ads conversation with people at work a long time ago they were like well I mean everything that caused went through so much he meant like coffee never mean nothing to me. I'm sorry. Well, I grew up at there were no doctors there were no lawyers. They were the house full of kids. But that father might not have been at a mother might not have been they might be raised by the grandparents but the uncles or whatever that show was fictional to me entertaining sure but it wasn't a reflection of my life good times more reflection my life I don't think so Hollywood it because it's shucking and jiving shooter now I agree with either so the whole thing about me being racist, I understand how you can kind of get that way but if you want to ask me a question, ask me a question. I can tell you anything you need to know about racism especially being a black person in America. I'm cool with it but if you want to know if you want to leave your Twitter question or something else like that like this, if you want to know what I think about white folks is going to ask because I'm not one stop talking about them and I'm going to start talking about black people not talking about anybody because it's good shit and they do good shit I'm a rock with it is batshit it's horrible shit I'm not gonna rock with it. Like

Mikey:

that's I was gonna say it's like the is any kind of Iist like if you are any kind of ISD it's like an elitist like you have a high bar for people like you have a high bar for bar for art. You have a high bar for the people that you bring into your life like you're critical of everybody kind of equally and that's what I fucking love about you and that's why you're a great host for the show cuz you're like, you're like it's a it's a tight little hole in the needle. You got to make it through for anthem, like recognize your talent

Anthony:

and this thing and whenever I try to shoot white people Bill White people do shit like that. They're about what Mitch McConnell said this week.

Mikey:

No, what do you say?

Anthony:

When they were talking Oh, good. I need to pull it up because I want to make sure I get this man silly as poor right

Mikey:

can you do it in your best turtle impression too and see if you can jiggle your your throat a little turtle if I talk show Oh, damn,

Jeff:

man, you know what's funny? He does look like the he looks like what was the movie The turtle turtle with the dude from Yeah,

Mikey:

master of disguise mana turtle enough for the turtle club? He doesn't like that right?

Jeff:

Next McConnell he kind of looks like him.

Mikey:

One then there was that a cartoon turtle? What was that from? Was it a book or a show? Look But it had the little perfect glasses just like like a little bookworm. Looks exactly fucking like him like that is one of the most powerful people in our country. God not that it matters what you look like.

Anthony:

When asked on Wednesday. What he would tell voters of color who feared they won't be able to vote November's midterm elections because the Senate's failure to pass the John R Lewis voting rights Advancement Act. The Kentucky Republican said if you look at the statistics, African American voters are voting and just as high percentage as Americans. I didn't know that we were two different

Mikey:

things. He says Americans No.

Anthony:

Six African American voters are voting in just as high percentages as Americans tight.

Jeff:

Jesus is that was that a misquote or that he was

Anthony:

just Oh last man he said that shit so again, oh my not being racist. Is that people in white with slavery to kind of see I don't even notice I've like come on come on. And I'm not going to give him like oh maybe he's old. Or maybe he misspoke No No, you said exactly what you said try to move walk off that shit. Oh, you want to said that? So I don't like I don't have anyone coming at me or coming toward him. So like that? Because you know why? Cuz I like to call out things when this kind of shit keeps happening. And it happens over and over and over again. And it happens so much. We just kind of like get numb to it but I just don't I'm like, like I understand what you're saying you don't see us as the same citizens of this country that's probably why didn't vote on a voting as low as it was. I get it then you say it it's making it clear what I already know when you're actually showing one thing your words just know surmise that for me, yeah, I'm not here to check white people I'm saying to tell you like, stop saying dumb shit. Stop doing dumb shit can you do I'm going to call you out on it. And like I said, again, we're going to go back to hold Dan antenna thing. I got nothing to do with Danny. Danny's fine. Bob was a hilarious Comedian. Like out like, his funny shit to me. Wasn't even him doing you know, full house. Like, have you ever seen a Bob Saget? Stand up bit? Oh, yeah. It's hilarious. Right? And he's our he is nothing like the guy you see on TV again. Yeah, Bill Cosby thing that he saw. He saw this this kind guy living in the south of San Francisco. You get them on stage. It's a completely different person, because that's who he is. So wasn't dismissing the guy, but like he just didn't really mad at me. He's a good comedian. Yeah, he had a good show. But 30 plus years ago, I'm like, no real impact on my life right now. No, yeah. But

Jeff:

then McConnell comment reminded me of when Biden's called Obama the first clean. Yeah, candidate.

Mikey:

Well, and then immediately, people start saying thing, like you said, and where it's like, oh, he's older. It's a different generation or something like that. It's that like, you know, you talk about shooting white people bail. It's like, no, it's just an automatic bail situation. It's like, oh, no, no, no, he's just from a different era. He's old. I'm like, Okay, if he's old enough, where he's fucking up things like that, like, majorly racist oversight statements. He's made me not fit for office, get the fuck out of here. And this is we're going to talk about but be consistent.

Jeff:

Let's be consistent. Let's be consistent with the excuses. You know, I'm saying that we can use that for him. It's like the whole Antonio Browns shit that I said a couple of weeks ago, like, you know, he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. And I'm saying even if he's telling the truth, because of your travel, and this is, you know, and I think that's, that's the same with a lot of these pilots. It's

Mikey:

like, you know, kill your master sort of, like the idea of our holding anybody in high regard. Like, you know, that's an actor that's famous or something like that. I don't know like those people to me. I don't I find them untrustworthy. Like you're guilty before proven innocent, because I just think, you know, someone like Bill Cosby, he was given enormous amounts of money, enormous amounts of power, a bunch of yes, people around him. You know, maybe he's Dr. Huxtable with his cute little sweaters on the show. But I don't trust that motherfucker. Why should I trust him? Like I laugh at the show. And then I know that he goes out into the world and he lives in a life where he has enormous amounts of power, and enormous amounts of sway to silence people or whatever. So I just I don't trust almost anybody that's that's famous because I just think they live in this like in a rarefied world. White or black? And I don't know, man. I mean, it's, it's to me, it's like, yeah, there's been people that have died that I was like Louie Anderson. I was I was sad that he died. I've loved some of the characters that he's played, but I don't know he could have been a puppy rapist. I haven't I have no idea. I like

Anthony:

to picture a black person like, oh, the white dragon coming to America.

Unknown:

From McDowell's from McDonald's.

Jeff:

Yeah. I know. It's weird when people kind of if you work hard and 20 years, you'll be promoted, making the fries.

Anthony:

And that's the whole thing. And I mean, you might have some problematic things in the past, but Charles Barkley was 100%. Correct. Not a Hero, like we know, athletes, entertainers, the people we put up on pedestals, the people we adore, they're not here. They're just virgle as people who have a very specific talent that people don't write, but we just we fall in love with them. Oh, I remember them so much like,

Mikey:

well, this is like when they when they when they have like, you know, let's just use Charles Barkley as an example. Or they have someone that's like known for playing basketball and have the mind to talk about their political beliefs or something I'm like, just because you like can take a basketball and throw it into a hoop. I don't care what you think about foreign policy necessarily like and I think when he could didn't he say I'm not a role model? Your parents will be role models, right? Like, what a fucking great and it was a commercial, right? Yeah.

Anthony:

And like, it was great. It kind of do. Like a deeper sociological thing is that sometimes you you have athletes and entertainers and stuff as your heroes because your parents really can't be because he kind of fun? Sure, let me want to see it. Like who told

Jeff:

LeBron shut up and dribble? Who was?

Mikey:

Yeah, wait, Senators? Oh, sure. It was definitely a way not as a white person from it, I think was

Jeff:

in a state where there's wasn't that Candace Owens assumption.

Mikey:

Oh, no, I think it was a dude. Or Trump.

Anthony:

I don't know probably a lot of people. Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham. They Oh, okay.

Jeff:

She's the Laura angers.

Anthony:

No, no, Ingraham i n g R H. Am Ingraham. I'm

Jeff:

pretty sure it's pronounced.

Mikey:

Yeah. Throw throw the hammer. Angry ham, Laura Ingraham

Anthony:

bird, whatever her name is yo.

Jeff:

Going back to coming to America. This is random, but it's coming to America. The first movie that showed Black people in a better light than white folks. In other words, like in the whole movie, like the black characters are more successful than the white characters in that whole movie you'd like to so glow people, the McDonald's people, you know, obviously the Prince and the Queen and all of that.

Anthony:

There really are no white people in a movie. Yes, Lou

Jeff:

is only a couple there's a cab driver. There's Louie Anderson is the barber shop people. I mean, that's what I'm saying. Like they all the African Americans in the movie are like in a higher category than the whites. And so I'm thinking that's like the first movie that I can remember seeing that,

Anthony:

that they were shown in a better light. And I'm trying to think, yes. Do the right thing. Good question.

Jeff:

Um, obviously, you have movies like Black Panther now and stuff like that. But that back then, you know, 80s and early 90s, like

Anthony:

even Black Panther that wasn't happening to go to Africa and build a technologically advanced nation. Like, I live in a better house. We live better period. You know, I mean,

Jeff:

like, for crying out loud in the 80s we had a movie where Richard Pryor was bought to be this kid's toy like. Like, he's like, that ain't some racist shit.

Anthony:

I mean, because it's actually pretty terrible. I mean, Richard had a real bad he wouldn't really trust

Jeff:

he did. He did admit to sucking dick

Anthony:

me. Couldn't Richard that's why he's my favorite comic of all time. You're not gonna find anybody more honest than him. I wish I was at honest. I I wish God gave me that ability to be that honest.

Jeff:

I think you are. Well, not that honest. But I mean,

Anthony:

like, like, like, how could you be that honest, but still have people laugh at it? Like it's still funny. But isn't that why he was so funny, though. Yeah, but that's why he's number one. Like let's Yeah, yeah, no one had that level of brutal honesty, but it still make you laugh about the shit.

Mikey:

Well, dude, he was the first person like saying, I mean, you know, Eddie Murphy talks about it a lot, you know, but like, where he would you know, go on those extended rants about like taking a shit or like, you know, just like it was there was no barrier in between you and him like he was telling you all the ugly parts of him. That's I fucking loved him. Like Love my

Anthony:

filter. He did not like look. smoke crack was six ladies last night and he can make a whole bit of butter like Jesus Christ. This is brilliant. But is it black people in a better light? No, I think you might be right.

Mikey:

And are you saying because there because he's royalty or just or the your say McDowell's and kind of every character in the show

Jeff:

everybody? Yeah, I've been the sole glow people that own the business.

Anthony:

upper middle class family.

Mikey:

Yep. Totally. Pretty much royalty. That was it? Mm hmm. Did you ever think that? And then all what do you like, I know that people have been critical of the Cosby Show, because they had to kind of, they'd like, set the family in like a like, in like a white neighborhood. And it was kind of something where they felt like they were just replicating like, a white sitcom. And just plugging in black characters. I don't know that I really, I don't know, growing up watching it as a white kid. I don't think that I felt like that was the case. But I know, there was criticism about that. Like, they didn't feel like the show had enough. Kind of like black integrity.

Anthony:

No, it wasn't that I yeah, they tried to make it really clear. Like, these are two successful people and right, look, that's if that's anybody, like, like, like, like, hamburger. Like, it's often like, become very successful at whatever we do, right? There's no way you're gonna keep living in where I grew up. I like I want to go somewhere where it should is nicer, where it should clean. And we're, you know, going costs more it's going to

Mikey:

happen, right? Yeah. And you're like, and you're living amongst people that are in the same like, you know, Ashkelon, and like, that's a bigger conversation about like, you know, the kind of the innate racism and like, when people will say, like, ghetto, and people like think maybe they think black neighborhood or they think successful, and they think white, white person, and like, that's the like, I think, where people need to check themselves in those kind of like, you know, the, the soft bias or what is it? Yeah, soft,

Anthony:

soft bias.

Mikey:

There's a bigger, I can't know how to say that, Oh, why don't you know, the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Anthony:

And the whole thing is like this. If you're a successful lawyer, and you're successful going to college, you probably shouldn't still be living in the ghetto. If you've been living in the ghetto in the first place. Like I said, that's kind of the biases that we come from, like we like, Could you see Claire's parents, you see? Sure. Yeah. No, he flipped Huxtables parents like they're still alive and well and they have a particular thing I know that when when he said when he was doing the Cosby Show, like he brought on like a clinical psychologist and make sure that the views and everything that was shown on TV, but making sure that no people of color were just any positive light wasn't my

Jeff:

only beef only beef with the show but my only beef with the show is on lawyer and a doctor are very busy people in real life. But in the show, they're always home, always have a barbecue.

Anthony:

Every night,

Jeff:

where do they work at? That was always home. I'm like, yo, if you're really a doctor, and if you really a lawyer, you're not gonna be home as much

Anthony:

nobody's eating dinner and also know he puts the patient in golf because you gotta deliver baby like, right,

Mikey:

right? Sure. Yeah.

Anthony:

I think nine to five, right, right.

Mikey:

I just think my favorite episode was when the he goes to buy a new car. And he dresses like he's like in sweatpants and stuff like that, because he doesn't want the person who wants to be able to like talk him down. And then who is it? Is it Gilbert? Godfried someone comes over like Dr. Huxtable. Yeah, and like, the guy like immediately jumps the price of the car. But it was like he had a whole day to just go into that race not gonna be what's racist.

Jeff:

The fact that he hiked up the price, just because it's black man, he figures has money because he's a doctor.

Mikey:

No, I think it was more about his position. It was more about his job, not as Ray, I don't think that was a racist moment.

Jeff:

Hey, I'm trying to maintain that.

Mikey:

Totally, why everything's racist.

Anthony:

I understand that people might think I'm racism far from it. I'll try to be it's not really, it's not really in my, in my bones. I know enough about my own family history. Like say my grandmother grew up in deep rural South. My other grandmother grew up in the backwoods of Maryland, so on and so forth. And they experienced a whole lot. And they went through a whole lot, so on so forth. I know those stories, I know about them being chased out of certain towns, I'm sending them just going down and placing the T and the Klan out and about. So I know these things, and that doesn't mean that I disregard them. I'm just I'm just aware of them. But it doesn't really frame our views on life, you pretty much fit into one of three categories. Either I pretty much feel generally saying that you're a good person, I pretty much feel generally Santa, you're a bad person, and everyone else kind of falls in the middle that's going to either go one way or the other. So I don't really put myself in a place to judge let your actions and everything else kind of decided for me. Now if you think I'm racist is cool. I would I would suggest that if you do so you feel so you can ask me any question. If you want to go somewhere grab a cup of coffee. I'm not worried about you robbing to kill me because I probably fuck you up. Had a conversation face to face, it would be no violence. No, my dad, like you really want to feel what I think about people we can. I'm amenable to that I'm not backing off of anything or trying to make people feel comfortable. For the whole promise that we don't have uncomfortable conversations about the things we do and do not like about society and about life. And racism is one of them. We just don't We don't want to have that uncomfortable conversation. I'm never going to tell someone that I have a white friend. It's just not me. I have friends of all age races, backgrounds, colors, sexualities, ethnicities, everything. But I'm never going to use that to be a cop. I'm not going to say something homophobic. Like, oh, I can see that my friends gay or I can say my friends. I'm never going to do that. I'm also going to stand on my own too. So if you feel a particular way towards me, I understand that we should have a conversation with me not really hard to find you want to swing the information this way or so on so forth. We could have if you want to come on the show you want to discuss it it's cool too. But trust me if I'm racist, we would not be having this conversation right now. It's because I care about people and I want you to know you know you're gonna be out but you know sometimes I'm checking little white homie when he's a little bullshit you know? Make a little little funny little black joke from time to time or a little Spanish jokes or little whatever, Nana I can't get them spaces you and him spaces. So when I'm calling out to Stop the bullshit I'm talking I'm telling you to tell them to stop doing that shit. Because y'all in place we can get to the only way we can try to fix the shit if y'all are able to do so and actually align yourself with the purpose itself if you don't want to do so. Just keep on listening.

Mikey:

It's always my

Jeff:

favorite all King to walk da White Devil White Devil

Mikey:

it's always my favorite excuse when people say that like oh, I can say this because I have black friends I can say this because I've Jewish friends whatever it is, and like if you really do have friends that are black or Jewish, then probably more than anybody you shouldn't be a fucking dick about it. Like that would they would your friends would find that offensive and probably would say fuck you. You're like

Anthony:

dude know how much you how much your gay friend was will be your friend if you called someone a fag front of them. Right?

Mikey:

That doesn't feel very, doesn't feel very friendly.

Jeff:

Like it's not very LGBTQ plus friendly.

Anthony:

Jesus. Like this guy. Got to do the job. And one of my friends called me a cunt and it's made me laugh because I know not just a funny word. God

Mikey:

man. I mean, you're kind of a kind. It's a compliment Dude, we have a British friend and like, he uses Khan every like 15th word and it's my favorite because we'll just be you know out of the restaurant or something you can be like I'm in this country. And it's like you know here that's the most offensive word you can possibly say in England it's not as like as you know, offensive but kind of love it serious.

Jeff:

So let's go ahead and put this to rest before we go on break and do you have a problem with white people no

Anthony:

only got a problem with silly asked by people.

Jeff:

Let's take a quick break. When we come back. We're going to discuss a little Joe Biden.

Jeff:

They represent a culture to represent the culture podcast. Hi, man, let's get into this Joe Biden shit. And this is gonna be a segment of Is that racist? Now so I'm gonna start off with playing the clip of what Biden recently said first, because this has the African American community up in arms, you know, I'm saying like a lot of the things he says you know, some people you know, Miss translated to be insensitive or whatever. And and I'm ask you if you had a problem with his comments, and I'll play him now, if student

Unknown:

loans got me up in arms. That's what he got me up. Dr. King's assassination did not have the worldwide impact that George Floyd's.

Jeff:

So that's what he said, and she had people tripping. And in this situation, I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. Because I, what I feel he meant was that in today's era, social media, the advent of social media, everybody has a smartphone. And, you know, shit is more out there than when Dr. King was around where, you know, maybe hid. his assassination wasn't really felt around the world. Like, like George Floyd's was, you know, there's people protesting George Floyd's death and China and Japan, you know what I'm saying? But there's a lot of people and I saw the Twitter community, you know, I mean, I saw Black Twitter was going off like, Oh, he's insensitive that goes to his other comments, you know, I'm saying how, how dare him say some shit like that about Dr. King. So I wanted to ask and what your thoughts on that comment was?

Anthony:

Like, Was he being insensitive? I

Jeff:

think it was racist. You think he was off base,

Anthony:

no one racist, one racist. It was kind of conversation we had before like putting people on pedestals. What Dr. King did was tremendous for this country, his historical impact can be denied. For some states, they celebrate his birthday, some states, not all, it should be nationwide. But it's not that way. But it doesn't, it doesn't lessen his impact. When you put him in comparison to say, someone like Malcolm X, who, through his ability to understand transformation and the adjustments to understand what true Islam was. And the know, like Mike said, the same thing that he said about why people then eventually come around to the understanding that they're not all evil people. They're not all bad. We want to work with those people and with those communities to bring forth a better nation, so on so forth, I think that I know people might get up in arms out because it's up, we say Dr. King, people are going to be very touchy about it. But George floors death was just as impactful. He said, The reason why I say that, because I say with the advent of social media, so on and so forth. What you saw over like a span of a few weeks, was people that were older. And you see the youth of today, all ganging together all over the world, protesting about the racial injustice and the indignities of watching a man die. And no one coming to his help and understand that this was an extremely racist moment, something that I was actually proud of, because it really brought people together that on all sides of whatever they were really, really in this together at that moment. Now, some of them weren't really doing it. Some people were playing to shut up like a social media kind of thing. But when they were like a day when it What blackout their profiles or put up Black Lives Matter and when you know, they really don't matter, you still in the same function, whatever. But the fact that you had to kind of impact around the world like said, when Dr. King died, it wasn't a whole bunch of markets. It was a whole bunch of riots. But you like you took away our hero, we're gonna burn this fucking place down. George flow was no man's here. But you did see a man lose his humanity and dignity in front of the world. And the world had to recognize like, No, we have to stand up and do something about it. So for the world to come together on something like that. And it's not saying Oh, does that mean that George Floyd is a great person wrote the king Fuck no, that's, that's ridiculous. That's just that's that's Angel Dust talking. It's really an all honesty. Like, you can't compare what one person meant compared to what it did. But they both created a discussion they both spark the flame one foot to rise and one led to you know, people trying to really understand it up in this system of racism and regards to our country and around the world. That's why it was so unifying. But it doesn't mean that it's racist, but I mean, Joe has a disability to say silly shit like that. One thing he said about before about Obama said that because you

Jeff:

clearly haven't read American gender.

Mikey:

He is like that foot and mouth disease. He said yeah, he's like white dude. I know. Like in a lot of time. I'm like, I knew that what you're saying but it's just like a blob that makes you sound fucking just really out of touch. Do you think do you think it made a huge difference that George Ford's killing was caught on tape? Oh, yeah. I mean that that seems like it made like so much of it like made so much more tangible for people

Anthony:

they saw other people die like they sold right here right get shot in the park. They show Rodney King get his as he do. He saw the right but he didn't die. He saw He saw Eric Garner get choked out here. But But you saw that man land and ground for nearly eight minutes. You heard him screaming and begging and pleading for his life. That knee would not get lifted until he went limp and that he put him but you know what? It's perfect. Um, because I know a lot of people seen it like even will do the right thing. Sure. Remember when it choked out Radio Raheem and let him live and he's on the ground it was like just put them in the car and he picked up his dead body that slipped it inside like that we received from begin to end it they were screaming like you're killing them. You're killing it. You're killing them. You're watching this action go on. And like the person that person isn't fucking that tragic, could they did not move their phone and try to terminate and everything like they're gonna catch and record the entire thing. And to watch that man just die to basically not die. Wrong word to get executed like that. Yeah. And for the world to see that. Like, we're remember to shoot with Sam for about cops. And people come like we weren't kidding. Like, this is the proof. Like, I'm pretty sure he subdue runner Nicolet his ass up. He just kept going. And all of a sudden he's dead. And he like said his limp as body goes into that car, and can see that for the world to view it. Like I said, back then, there was only so many channels in the time to talk to King and now. I mean, you don't even have that watch TV. You can just pick up your phone. Sure, it's everywhere. And to watch that go on. Something was just so chilling about it. And I think the thing that broke people's back not what happened just watching somebody dies, what really fucks with you?

Mikey:

Mm hmm. And you know, the fact that he said, I mean when he called for his mama and I mean, it's even people that didn't see that watch the whole video, you know, they knew, you know, they even just seen clips of it. It was like, this is something this is different. I mean, and what's the most memorable image of MLK being assassinated? Do you guys have like an image in your head of

Anthony:

oh, I'm want to learn more tell when it when they're pointing up everybody with a pointing point or whatever right? For sure I came from

Mikey:

which is like that's a dramatic photo and it's so intense, but it's nothing like watching someone be executed slowly for nine minutes. I mean, it's or but going

Jeff:

back to this Biden, let me just read some of the comments that are people were saying on Black Twitter, somebody said, in my opinion, the comparison in itself is inappropriate and disrespectful. I don't care what he means. Nobody wants to hear about this from him. Somebody else said bottom line Biden is a fucking retard always has been Fuck him. He's never been supportive of the movement. Back from the beginning. Somebody else said, he said,

Mikey:

I like it. I like people you'd like, drop and return to it. So somebody said yeah, like let's just layer insults upon somebody said

Jeff:

that is an utterly bullshit statement, in my opinion, is a racist no is a true not a chance in hell. He's dismissing and minimizing the effect of one of the great leaders of the civil rights movement. The man gave his life for what he believed in Floyd got killed by a cop. Tragic, yes, but not even close to the level of King who knew full well, he could and most likely would be killed for spreading his message. That's too that's my two cents. Somebody else said it's being taken out of context. Of course, I will say this. I was in Japan during the George Floyd protests and got to witness the Japanese people marched for our problems. Other folks in other countries didn't care what happened in the USA during the 1960s. That's for sure. So you get different perspectives. You know, I'm saying from different

Mikey:

periods that for sure. I don't really I don't really know what happened worldwide after MLK was killed. I mean, he was it's a different it's a different media landscape for me and brought it up. It's like, you know, this is there was different access to you know, I went I mean, I would imagine people that were like, aware of things were aware of MLK and other countries, but I don't have this I don't have the sense of how, how well known he was. And this is like, like you said, and like people didn't know who George Floyd was. But it was about this. I mean, it was about this incendiary, horrifying thing that people were able to see and they were like, I'm watching a human be killed and

Jeff:

that's what I think that's what I was doing back there right and was saying and I normally and people get on me a lot of people get on me but I normally don't defend Biden ever. But in this situation, I'm gonna you know, I'm gonna defend them and give them the benefit of the doubt as to what he was trying to say, you know, I'm saying yes, just so fucking he just needs an advisor for him or this certain topics, especially when it comes to African Americans a certain topic he just needs to like Amala speak on and not address him at all because he usually say some shit that might come across wrong. No,

Anthony:

don't do that. Don't do that. Don't Don't Don't don't put it in front of him. Take a nickel bullets don't do that.

Mikey:

A human rights.

Anthony:

Oh, like, like, Oh, we got black promise. Come handleless

Mikey:

He's like, he's like Cabos busy. I've got Brock on the phone. He's gonna He's gonna handle this one for me. I'm I'm very bad at this.

Anthony:

President Biden, three black people I killed Come on.

Jeff:

Come address this shit.

Mikey:

Come on. Yeah, well, he hasn't he sure as fuck hasn't given her an opportunity to do anything else while they've been gonna

Anthony:

pose to the Vice President T is an honorary position. You're not really supposed to do shit.

Mikey:

Well, but you can No, I mean, you can't have at least I don't know, I just felt like, I haven't seen it's like, I was almost wondering if like, once he got elected, it was gonna be he was gonna be like, like, like, we're using him as bait. Like, we're gonna, we're gonna get an office and then I'm gonna step up to the side, and I'm gonna change this change on well, and I just, I mean, I don't know, dude, it's, we were talking about this in the in the break. But none of I don't think anybody on the three of us really wanted to vote for Joe Biden. It was just it was the lesser, I mean, the way lesser of two evils. Oh, we can get the fucking devil back in office. Or we're gonna have Joe Biden and Joe Biden. You know, for me, the thing that I'm the most frustrated with now we were also talking about this is like the kind of idea of bipartisanship or like reaching across the aisle. Fuck that. Like, I don't want that anymore. Like, I don't think we get anything done in bipartisan situations. I'm like, we need to come in guns blazing as liberals to get our shit done. And like Republicans do it really well. They have like marching orders, and they get shit done. When they're in office, Trump fucking hammered out some stuff. Like, I mean, Supreme Court, lower court appointments. He got shut down, that's gonna affect our country for decades, maybe forever. And we get an office and we're like, oh, we need to like see people across the aisle, we need to like, you know, work in bipartisan situations. Fuck that. I just I just don't think it's I think it's such a stupid strategy. And Biden is kind of for me that like, he is the human representation of like working working across the aisle. And it's just I don't know, it's not fucking working. And he's

Jeff:

speaking of Biden. There is a here and on this, because Charlamagne tha God recently gave Biden and you know, the rest of his Democrat cronies, the donkey of the day. Here's basically saying, you know, that even though it's been only a year, he doesn't see them taking the necessary steps, you know, to live up to any of the promises that they made, you know, to minorities and to African Americans in particular, like, for example, the joint floor Justice Act, which, you know, doesn't seem to have any legs right now the voters Rights Act, you know, the student loan forgiveness bill, which is what I'm waiting for.

Anthony:

You don't I'm saying one of the main thing, one of the check getting my money, get this shit off my back. So

Jeff:

all these things that they were promised I'm and again, it's only been a year, he still has three years to live up to these some of these promises. But you know, Charlamagne gave them don't get a date for this shit, you know, because I feel like he's not living up to

Mikey:

any of that shit. It and it only has been one year, which I did. I kind of forgot. No, it seemed like so much longer. Right? It seems like it's been three, it seems like so much longer. I know, which is amazing. Because it's like Trump was that it felt like Trump was in office for 900 years. Like it felt like it was never gonna end. And so yeah, and you you oftentimes, I think, get most things done in your in your presidency in the middle two years. But

Jeff:

it's like even and that's been one of the biggest knocks on Democrats, like Republicans stand together, no matter what could be Satan running and they'll be they stand behind their party, regardless of who's the running mate or the candidates. But that doesn't that's not always the one. They fight amongst each other.

Mikey:

But Democrats, Democrats are a big, they're a big tent party, like they can contains multitudes of people that have different wants and needs different, you know, I mean, that, unfortunately, Oh, for sure. And I think the thing, Republicans, it's like, it's easy to define a negative, like, if you say, I'm only anti choice like that I'm a single issue voter or I'm like, I'm 100% against raising taxes ever. Or I'm down for corporate bailouts, whatever it might be, like Republicans can kind of say, like, I'm standing behind, you know, these Republicans because I have this one issue that I vote on, and they're the person that stands like that for me. I mean, I had, you know, my Catholic family members that are that are against abortion. Trump was their fucking dude. Like, are you kidding me? How many abortions is that guy paid for? Zach, somebody was born a gold plated divorce. Oh my God, he's gotten a gold plated abortion clinic in the bottom of Trump Tower That's fucking churning and burning him. And it's, that was gross. I mean to say like,

Anthony:

it's too late now. It's sorry, it's I host

Mikey:

a podcast about infertility and Yeah. And it should be right for fucking everybody. But the I just think it's like, it's harder the Democrats, it's like a more intelligent party. Like we have more variations of people were Republicans, it's like, it's we have the marching orders. We also have, they have news outlets that are like, this is what you should say, when the liberal person challenges you, this is the way to think. And we don't really have that we have a much more like, come in, let's see what we can do. Let's work it out together. And it's just it's not as defined and stratified as and I'm jealous of that. I think we could get a lot more done if we were more intense and brought a gun to

Jeff:

my off base in my off base. When I say that I'd be completely shocked if Biden want a second term. Like I feel like the 0% chance of that happening.

Mikey:

No, it's possible. I don't I mean, it's I think if it happens, it's gonna be like What aunt said is like, it's just the like, kind of lesser, let's say they run Trump again. So it's the lesser of two people are just like, we have to vote because oh my god, if Trump gets back in office, but like if I actually had a valid, like a choice that I could make, that wasn't Biden, I would

Jeff:

like I always thought he would step down and let Kamala take over, you know, man, because he's because of his age and stuff like that.

Mikey:

Have you guys heard the shit that Kamala they're saying that Kamala might run with Mitt get the Romney really? Are you fucking Yeah, and I don't know how there's any truth to that. But

Jeff:

like, let's keep it a buck. Like, obviously, we voted for Biden, because we had to get Trump out of there. But besides that, a lot of the reasons why I voted for Biden was because of the student loan forgiveness that He kept promising because of the first home, you know, first time homeowners, you know, loans and stuff like that. And for the past year, all I've been hearing about is renewable energy, renewable energy, which is important. Yes. But let's talk about the shit. I need.

Anthony:

Like I don't talk about soon, but we need to build these bridges. I bitch come on infrastructure. build back better. No, no bloody fucking loans up. That's what needs you to do. Stop playing my motion boy. sick. I'm sick. And then I'm really not like got anything against Joe. But

Jeff:

you heard what they said, Man you started with recently to that, you know, he's gonna start with the service workers. They're gonna they're gonna forgive, you know, up to 70,000 people or whatever it is for but they're gonna start with service workers. I'm like, really? Because they need it more than the people that can't actually afford to pay the shit. Just people unemployed that had they have student loan debt, but we're gonna give it to you. No, that's not like we're gonna give it to firemen. Together UPS workers, people making 100 grand a year,

Anthony:

man, man. I mean, tell me you unemployed. All these jobs. I hear I tried to hit you for nobody. I'm begging to hire people that got like 30,000 hours flip a couple burgers, please, please, please come in make full Big Macs and our dogs.

Mikey:

That's it. You could take the rest of the time you don't even care.

Anthony:

We just need to get somebody to come in here and work. That's why the people want to slow. So I'm trying to hear what by and talk about. And like I'm not in a manner or reason to shoot anybody any bail. I'm only shooting them back because somehow he inherited a pandemic has dragged on longer than he thought he would. He shouldn't got cute with the ship. And now we here we got to figure out what to do with it. Now once you get this under control, there's some things you promised the board I need to go ahead and chop off your little to do list and we're going to launch right now. That'd be great. Now, get these food and gas prices down. That'd be terrific. Notice some things we got to work through. But right now I'm not saying what the job is unacceptable. I'm just saying that. I'm not saying he won't get reelected I'm just saying that right now you're just in a tough way that you got to make up a lot of ground and do a lot of glad hand over next year to secure you. Second term for yourself. All right now it's not looking too good. But you got to get this virus you know, the control, just fucking everything up.

Mikey:

Well, and it's you know, and obviously COVID is such a, it's a it's the hardest thing to deal with. Because it's like, you know, it mutates it's moving, it's undetectable with a lot of people it's but I just think the response has been so like the fact that I can't remember if we were starting recording when I said this, but we were when I talked about how we had this exposure in upstate New York like I was there we had an entire day to spend and I would have spent any amount of money to get a test we an entire day to drive all around the city that we're in and we couldn't find anything and that to me it's like the fact that we don't have testing like fucking McDonald's like that you can't get tested if we're expecting to if we're saying it's this serious, and people should be you know, we should stop the spread all the things then you should be able to get tested so easily. We had an entire day that we wasted we barely barely were able to find a home test that I had to get from my wife's uncle. And I just and I'm not necessarily blaming that on Biden, but I'm just saying that there. I don't see how read if we're talking about infrastructure. This is fucking infrastructure like the health of our citizens the health of our business. I don't know why he hasn't I don't know why the government hasn't really fucking stepped in like we're getting these for free tests we were talking about this like, I mean most families are burning through for testing like a day or two

Anthony:

a gift man I want to thank you for furnishing to the McLaughlin report.

Jeff:

We're getting them for tests in the mail in a couple months. Meanwhile, I've already bought like 10 of them

Anthony:

last year like don't go over like June like manage it been over some shit online Why did we mess up cuz people gonna be coming to other people's doorsteps like you're gonna see a white box here stealing people's COVID test packages oh yeah I had so I'm gonna freak god man. Fucking hate criminals

Mikey:

especially package thieves like don't be a dick. That being said it's wild that we still like the people were like leave an iPad in front of someone's door and it's expected not to get stolen from the house

Jeff:

not not not in the house I've been living at the last seven years but in when I was in the hood Yeah, I lived in an apartment they were just like the sidewalk like there was no doorstep to leave it was just in

Anthony:

the email like your packet has been packed has been delivered were like three minutes for bed here I don't feel

Jeff:

I had to do that a bunch of times. This will resend it but yeah somebody else got my shit you know

Anthony:

make claims you got to do you get like we need to file a claim that no yeah, I need to give you my PlayStation that's all I need to do. I require a

Jeff:

signature be make sure somebody's home tick tock

Mikey:

really really thinks that I that I want to see videos of those like where they put up like Prop package and then the person like you know get to their car and there's a camera inside and then like blows glitter or fucking peanut butter all over the whatever. I'm like, that's just gonna

Jeff:

we got to fight though if you do this. Yeah. Like, what a package? We got to fight.

Mikey:

Yeah, but you just stole shit from me.

Jeff:

Okay, yeah, love it.

Anthony:

Somebody tick off the boxes, a bunch of cameras into like, a fart spray. And it's like really, really, really fine glitter. That'd be like,

Jeff:

fireworks and it's sound like gunshots.

Mikey:

Oh, yeah. It's all sorts of shit. You know? And then there's like, there's also a part of me that's like, it's the what I think about shark tank is like, are we like we really have a show where like, poor people need to beg rich people to give them access to capital like isn't the bigger conversation that we need to have, like people don't have equal access to capital. And I watched these videos about them stealing the packages and like, you know on some of them like fuck doesn't it suck? This person is out here stealing like, what is their life about that there's this desperate that they're having to steal this fart spray package. But then again, I don't know. Maybe

Jeff:

if you have some I'm that's all I have for today. I wanted to get this racism and as Biden shit talked about,

Mikey:

did you guys watch the fucking trailer for the dude. And it's like, 10 minutes long. I was like goosebumps that whole time.

Anthony:

Like, I hope they go like, what's the difference between me and you? Next song? Like, we want to clap. We call her or we go they got mad artists that day. Like yeah, hopefully, hopefully they pull it off. I'm just

Mikey:

like, it makes me feel relevant. I was gonna say I was like, all of these artists. Like if I could dream up my halftime show, like this is pretty close. And I'm like, I know. And it feels it kind of feels good to be like seen. I'm gonna like Kendrick. Everything else is for like 18 to 24 year long.

Jeff:

Am I wrong? Like you have all these old school legends?

Mikey:

But yeah, but Kendrick is a fucking legend. I mean, I think he I don't know. I'm so interested to see what he does.

Anthony:

I heard about a conversation y'all fan with having y'all a high. They will have this conversation about the best female vocalist, right. Hmm. So you said

Jeff:

let me say I could tell you my list right now. I got Whitney. Mariah Carey. What do you mean Sarah singer? Is that to me? The best female singers of all time? Female fingers ever. Okay, Whitney. Mariah, okay, cool. Celine Dion. That's my top three. Okay, and then I had to think real hard about the other two and I think I put a put Ariana Grande up there. Who could sing okay. And who was who was my fifth? I can't remember who my fifth was now. Point god. Oh, yes. Don't remember who my fifth was.

Anthony:

It all female fingers. Right. I agree. Whitney. I agree. I agree. Mariah. I agree with Celine. Yeah, I think that you're saying all the

Jeff:

time. Give me goosebumps all I hear them hit high notes.

Anthony:

You have to put Aretha Franklin there. That's fair. And five is tangible. Because like I'm not going to put me on today. Oh, no, no, I love entertainer not a great thing.

Jeff:

Oh, you know I know my fit. I know. Oh my god was my fifth was Christina Aguilera who can sing Okay, sing I saw was just that we're just used to that Poppy shit. That pop. She used to me.

Anthony:

Okay, my question just do you think she could sing better than Adele?

Jeff:

That's tough. But that was dope. Jennifer Hudson to me is really dope.

Anthony:

Because Because Adele can sing thing and I don't know her like being wiped. You can just sing. No, she's

Mikey:

got pipes too. Yeah, it's like she can blow blow. Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. Christina Aguilera. I feel like it's kind of like she's great. but it's a little bit of that showpony sort of thing if there's some kind of smoke and mirrors

Anthony:

if the honor Ariana Grande thing like I know she can thing but she did so much pop shit I don't really hear like do like ballots.

Mikey:

Yeah and to put her in like I think top five ever to me doesn't feel right she's a great pop artist but appreciate
