Jeff:

Before we know it, she'd have a Snoop Dogg tattoo on her shoulder for shizzle my nizzle telling you Julie, what do you Yo, yo, yo, yo, thank you for tuning in to another episode of think about that? the culture. It's ya boy, Jeff, my man Ant, what's good?

Anthony:

You want to start off talking about WrestleMania

Jeff:

WrestleMania wrestling? I mean, it is WrestleMania weekend.

Anthony:

I think that should matter when you're a kid when you get older, no matter at all. Like we loved it, like we had to, like, oh, when he was the kidney was WrestleMania did you actually pay for the illegal box? Like everybody

Jeff:

know we had the illegal box? And they would they would zap it like the cable company would zap it. And then the shoe would go blurry every couple of months and we buy another one. That's when they eventually they went to the to the shit they have now like the digital shit or whatever the fuck they call it?

Anthony:

Yes, it makes almost unhackable

Jeff:

Yeah, so it's good times.

Anthony:

could always get the fire stick. But I mean, it's but if you get Peacock, as far as money, go watch it anyway. So it makes life a lot easier. You have to commit to more criminal activities.

Jeff:

Where But yo, last week, we had a episode about the N word. And it's like this week, some of the topics is still like a continuation of the shit, you know, I'm saying.

Anthony:

But race and racism is undefeated.

Jeff:

But let's give a shout out first and foremost, to our patrons, aka the culture crew. We do have a new coach, crew member EJ deal aka DJ Screw. And, you know, remember last week, I said we didn't know much about him. So he actually reached out. He reached out on Facebook. And you know, first thing he said is that was a good episode. And then he said he did the nickname we gave him. He also said he agrees with what we were you know what we were talking about. And then he said a little bit about me. I got two boys four and eight. He's a recovering addict. He's been sober for a year and a half. By the grace of God. He's still alive today. He says he's odd too many times to count. He also went on to say, I like this podcast, because you guys speak your mind and Have and Have you all opinions. And you guys understand diversity like I do. And I talk about real shit that matters. But yeah, that's a little bit about me. I've been through hell and back. But all I live for is my boys. And I don't ever want to go through that path again. Much love. Looking forward to the next episode. Respect. Congrats on being sober.

Anthony:

Yeah, that'll be number stop making drug jokes.

Jeff:

I mean, what kind of drugs? Do we make drug jokes?

Anthony:

No, oh, it's got some drug jokes somewhere to tuck somewhere.

Jeff:

I mean, unless he says that drug jokes are trigger for him, then we'll probably try to.

Anthony:

But that means a whole thing about but the whole thing about being a recovering addict, that you're gonna realize you're gonna be at the rest of your life. And that you basically have your support system, people are going to look out for you from that point forward. Like I said, If you can't, if you haven't learned to sometimes laugh at your own pain, even though you've been through a lot. Like that's, that's the the healing mechanism. Like, I went through some shit. I can find the humor in it. But I know like, I don't ever want to be that person again. Like, you got to find that happy medium. You don't want everyone to always see like, oh, man, you know, he's an addict. Like, I know what my fuck I'm a human being like, I'm me. First. I'm a person, then I'm a father, then whatever frame of employment I have I have that. But human first parents second, employee third. And the added thing is always going to be there. But we don't want anyone to be defined about what they might seem as like, you know, their flaw or their vulnerabilities. That's a superpower. I overcame this. A lot of people can. I can joke about it now because I know what I went through. And I became a better person from it. So you're gonna get these motherfucking jokes.

Jeff:

So thank you for being part of family man. Welcome to the family, family,

Anthony:

family. The Puerto Rican family, the family. Legal panel. Welcome to the culture family.

Jeff:

In other words, on a t shirt, family family. Thanks for being part of the family. Anyways, I met. I said that we talked about the N word last week. And then this week, we have a news anchor and Word. Now we have a news anchor. One

Anthony:

by n where we mean bigger just keeps people forget.

Jeff:

Okay, so we have a news anchor this week from Mississippi. Who got fired for saying on air fo shizzle my nizzle okay. The lady's name is fucking BarBri a Barbie Bassett. I would like to judge by car but the lady looks like a fucking racist. Okay, I'm not saying she is I don't know. Just guys that Karen face right,

Anthony:

Jesus racism rears its ugly head again.

Jeff:

The report says Mississippi Morning News veteran anchor Barbie Bassett has been pulled from the air after using Snoop Dogg's popular phrase fo shizzle my nizzle during a live broadcast. And the thing is most white people, both white people will say this, like for shizzle my nizzle and they don't even know what it means, right? They just know it some funny shit that Snoop Dogg says. I guarantee you that she had no idea that Mizzou was shorthand for the N word, right? Zero. She didn't you know, so in that regards, you can understand okay, she probably didn't mean it in a demeaning or derogatory way. But on the other hand is very ignorant of her right? You don't get points for being ignorant or naive. You don't get rewarded for that. And in this case, she lost her job.

Anthony:

So deserve to lose a job though.

Jeff:

Like I don't really know how I feel about it yet. I don't know if a person should lose their job for saying shizzle my nizzle me Charlemagne to God came on and he defended organization, I've lost the job. Other people have come out other black people have come out and said like not as ridiculous. You don't lose your job for saying fo shizzle my nizzle. Somebody made a good point, though, that the word nizzle you know, was Snoop Dogg's way of saying the N word without saying the N word, right. There's like a substitute for the word. So if it gets to the point where you can't even say the substitute of the word that you can't say, like, Where does this lead? I mean, ultimately, why people should know they shouldn't be ignorant to the fact that I'm saying if you're not of the culture, you should be able to read the room and we know what you can and can't say like just don't even use it. If you're not using these words in your everyday life. Don't fucking use it. I'm saying

Anthony:

I think the problems are given by people entirely too much credit. It's either thing is that they have this ability to copy rape and pillage the culture but not understanding the cultural context behind it. And so that's what it was apologizing for shit. Like, always been an example of a might have been GAAP but had a little boy when a shirt says like the biggest monkey in the jungle some shit like that. People find offensive like, why would they find it offensive? Because you don't understand the the cultural context behind it. They have a tendency to do that. They just

Jeff:

see the shit. It's cool. Yeah, they had a black kid modeling the monkey shit or whatever. Yeah, yeah. What is that about?

Anthony:

They always see the cool shit, but not the other shit. And then it's like, Oh, yeah. Oh, my bad. I forgot. Because they always want to take what was popping right now, which is generally done by black people, and then necessarily get the context behind the booth. Another good one.

Jeff:

But I think but like, that's what I'm saying. I think I'm not defending them. But what I'm thinking is a lot of times when they do shit like this, they're doing it out of ignorance. They're not even realizing that they're doing it. And that's why we talk about like, covert racism, and you know, deliberate racist, like, there's different forms. I'm not, you know, I'm not I don't know, this is what type of form of racism This is. But it's just like, they're just not even realizing that they're doing it right. willfully ignorant. It's like, you know, we talked, we talked about the Power Rangers a couple of weeks ago when we had the gentleman that worked for them. And remember when the Power Rangers had the Yellow Ranger was an Asian woman. And then he had the Black Ranger was an a black brother, right? Very specific until they got backlash from and then they switched it up and they put it you know, they changed the racism and shit like yo, but how tone deaf can you be? So a lot of times they're just tone deaf and they're like, oh shit, we didn't even realize that she could have you know, looked a certain way. Like this this lady Barbie bat Bassett, she had a history like she you know, before she had an altercation where she was on air having a conversation with a black lady or whatnot. And she says something about you know, your grandma me I'm sure your grandma me makes those cookies or whatever the fuck she said. Right? And then they made her apologize for that. When she got backlash. She came on air. And she said I apologize. You know, I didn't mean and I think my words would be insensitive. Like why are you calling somebody they grandmommy or like if they call you boy or if you're having a conversation with a black journalist or whoever and they call you a boy like Hey, boy, call me a boy like yo, like, you know, the the tone deaf the tone deafness the tone deafness of some of these people is quite wild to me.

Anthony:

That's hilarious. The next one 122 110 Last night. What do you think about that game? Boy? What the fuck you say to me? No, no, see, that's the thing. That's why they had to fire but it's a strike to me because we gave you a pass the first time we'll give you leeway. We'll give you grace. But there's never one striking line. Not you got to because the first one they let us law with the grand membership. This one is like now we can't have it. The problem that you always run into with some shit like this. It's kind of it's a it's a very thin line between willful ignorance and racism. I don't know if you're racist. I don't know if you're willfully ignorant. We talk But the last episode when I talked about the whole is why hate party by DMX why people love that song. And I always try to see who says the N word at that time. Doesn't mean that they're racist. It doesn't mean like, okay, it's unflinching and saying that which is cool with me. I don't have a problem with it. Like it's part of the song. We had a whole discussion about that last week. This situation is more like alright, you a newscaster? Like it's a guy in Atlanta? I think who like you always like you can look them up on the internet. He's a white guy who like who knows all the dances that the Negroes do. Every new cool dance he's on and they always got him doing some shit like this. Alright, cool. Now, I don't know if he's racist. I don't care if it's very sound of the man has raised the bones but I don't have zero idea. But the fact that when you guys you know, capture things from the culture, but don't take the text and context behind it. It's going to be an issue with her as a different because again, she's a multiple time offender now of doing some shit like this. After the first time, she should probably like anything involving black culture, music, sports, clothing, dance, whatever. I'm just going to leave that alone because she got me in trouble last time, but she faked this as good as time as any not knowing what it meant and what it was supposed to be for and how it's supposed to be expressed. Do I feel any pity for no should just kind of know better? These were things happen. You know, the news is funny weird things happen all the time. The funny shit I remember there was a New York broadcaster like she was talking like in a cutaway Did you like the fall you do. And then it went quiet. And she came back and apologize. Which it happens happens all the time. But this was like something she thought I like, I'm really gonna say that to make me like, cool. And nobody said fascism and Nazism. But God knows what 15 years maybe like, that's not some shit. You say in your everyday language, like you really thought this through. So it was like, I'm not gonna be forgiving of you to do such a thing when you just didn't put in a real thought into it. And the thought you put into it thought that this will be a good thing to say to anybody. And especially in the context of like a news anchor and a newscast. Like, that's stupid. Like, it makes no sense.

Jeff:

But like I said, I'm almost I'm almost 100% certain she had no idea what she was saying, you know, she just sent off for shizzle my nizzle you know, she thought it was something fun and cute. And you know, I mean, and I'm sure somebody later off air told her you know what nizzle means? No, some Snoop Dogg says No, it's It's the N word. You're saying. Oh, I'm sorry. You know, man, and she probably had to apologize and all of this shit.

Anthony:

Man fuck that lady. Sorry, man look like it's just someone else in the unemployment line. And she can be okay. She

Jeff:

right. But then that but then that poses another but then that poses another question, which is gonna segue to my next topic in a minute. Like, are these companies too quick to pull the trigger on people? Right? Like some happens they don't want to stink on their company or their brand? Like come on. Who knows that the owners of the fucking you know this channel or these broadcasts are racist themselves who the fuck knows what they look like, you know, I'm saying or what? You know what they be saying and closed doors. But they're like, Yeah, we don't need this. This type of shit on our you know, I'm saying on our name. We don't need this time to put negative publicity. So let's get rid of her immediately. And you see that a lot now in society, like somebody gets accused of something. Companies are quick to without getting all the facts. Companies are quick to like, oh, man, we got to dismiss you. And you know what I'm going. Sure. With the next topic is going to be you know, the Jonathan major situation. And we didn't talk about it last week, because it happened before we aired you know, our last episode, but I wanted to get all the facts right. So Jonathan majors gets arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, he strangled her he beat her ass up. Allegedly, right. So then all the reports start coming out that Disney's done with him. They're gonna they're gonna fucking fire him immediately. Right? She and then majors lawyer saying no, he's innocent. And then reports come out that the girl or the young woman is you know, taking her ship back, right taking her allegations back. And then reports from Disney are saying okay, we're gonna just look into it. And then we'll make our decision at a later time, right? We're gonna we're gonna investigate a little further. But we've seen this a lot though. Like where somebody gets accused of something and boom, they're quick to get can't quote unquote, canceled. You know, where their music is cancelled, whoever their endorsements get, you know, get canceled. And all it is and then later, they're either found innocent or found not guilty. Or, you know, it turns out that should never happen. I feel like in today's society, unless there's a video showing the shit, you know, we see we tend to like brush it off. Like when you see these football players beating up these women if it's not caught on tape. You know, like, if it's not on the surveillance camera or the elevator camera and you see the guy punching the woman, then all of a sudden becomes Oh, shit, it's serious. I we're done with this dude, right.

Anthony:

Hey, that's what got rewrites out of the race. Member they suspended him before but didn't see the video.

Jeff:

It was gonna be mild. It was gonna be a mild suspension. Not so that video came out,

Anthony:

then when he caught doing cold cocked it and drag it out to elevate it like, Ooh, we got to go somewhere different. It's dangerous to be reactionary in the society, and we've gone a little bit too far with it. I believe in the idea of waiting for the facts come out. And things appear. It's like if you see two people fighting, like I mean, just in your rent, like if you're driving somewhere, and you see two people scrapping it out. I can't tell who's right. I can't tell who's wrong. I don't know the situation or anything else behind it. Most of the time, you just kind of drive on that thing with Jonathan majors. If, honestly, if he wasn't just increased, and wasn't just in quantum mania, it probably wouldn't have been a big thing. And I mean, I'm not saying that to dismiss people who have been victims of domestic violence. I don't think it would have been a big thing. But he's just starting to blow up. Right? That it's not the SIS ascending star. Like it's, he's the guy. He's one. He's one of those, right? So when it comes up right after you just have all the success, and everything occurs, the first thing you can think of is like, well, there's something suspicious going on, like, the thing that I hate that people jump automatically, like conspiracy theories, like Disney pay people off, or they're trying to, they're trying to destroy them. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no. See, you're jumping the gun to this is an isolated incident that happened between two people when apparently there's evidence that was there. So all you can really do is wait for that to appear. I didn't make a judgement on I was like, I don't know, when I heard it. I said, I hope it's not situation. But really. I just need to know something more like this something went into something wrong and distorted. Like, I just know that the store is incomplete. Like he got arrested for assaulting somebody. And whenever you like, it's weird thing that whenever you assault somebody, they should leave the victim's name out, which they always do. But they always seem to have details of like the acts of violence that occurred, the scars, the bruising, the so and so forth. So it all automatically makes you like villainize just because of that. I don't know what happened. I don't know what occurred, I'm going to assume and believe that eventually, the video will come out. Now. Is this a bad look for him? I don't care. I don't care about listening. I think the issue that I have with this morning anything else is the overreaction to people. You canceled them? You got them out of there, especially him. Especially him, especially with like with black men. Could you have real specific about it because like, like, a couple of weeks ago, when you saw him posting on covers wearing pink, and some flowers, you call him the guy gay. Now all of a sudden, he's been a women? Or was that bitch fault? That's confusing. You got to pick aside you can't like tally the line. You try to make the judgments upon people upon what you see and what you think and what they appear to be. But until you actually know what's going on. You cannot judge anybody and people were just so fast to make a judgment on him. And then people come in about about No, he's a bad person. He's a sociopath you've been dealing with for a long time. Like you have a whole bag of shit for a minute, like a lot of people in that community said, so you're waiting for this moment for it to come up and these allegations might be patently false. Or you're gonna put forward that negative in or not negative number one, that narrative about him being a dangerous, sociopathic, violent person, or just going to die by the wayside to see how trained older she gets. Yeah, when I

Jeff:

saw the report, I was like, Yo, because I just saw creed a couple of weeks, and I thought the movie was awesome. And I was like, damn, this guy's a great actor. And then the reports come out. And I'm like all Illuminati trying to get them. That was my first thought. Right? I was like Illuminati is trying to get him. He's done a blow up now. He's just blown up. And they fucking with them already. And it was, you know, I was then I thought I was like, damn, Disney is fun because Disney has him as a main character now, right for like, the next few years everybody has in the plans for next movies and series, right? And I was like, shit is gonna mess everything up. And then it's like, Yo, what's what's up with? And I'm not gonna say I'm not gonna say like all black celebrities are all minority celebrities. But what what what's with certain celebrities, right? There's, there's a large population of minority celebrities that get a little bit of fame, get a little bit of money. And all of a sudden they start acting up, right? We see this more with athletes, though. I think that with actors, we see this with a lot of basketball players football players, especially when they're young, right? You give them you know, these young people that much fame and this much money and they don't know how to react. They don't know how to act. They don't know how to comport themselves. jobs aren't correct. They start running around with guns, you start running around beating women, they start doing whatever. And again, we don't know if these allegations are true or not. But what is it with these black and brown celebrities that they get, you know, a little bit of fame, a little bit of money, and all of a sudden they can't stay out of trouble, right? It's like they have it's like a godly complex. All of a sudden you're on top of the world you feel like you could do well. anything right? You feel like you can do whatever you want. And it goes back to being tone deaf. We talked about tone deaf. Back in the day, you could get away with shit because there wasn't as many cameras now and Derek Jeter says this all the time when he interviews, he tells young athletes and young young stars coming up, he tells them, You have to live your day to day as if you're being recorded 24 hours a day. Because most likely you are right. Everybody has a phone now everybody has a camera. There's surveillance cameras all over the streets, everywhere you go to the camera. So he says you have to walk around you have to move as if you're being recorded and you have to be conscious that is you getting yourself into trouble this show is gonna get out immediately. And we talk about the Takashi shear we spoke about it last week the guys are jumping him and they're recording themselves doing the shit. You see guys walking around with guns and doing all types of violent crimes and they're recording themselves doing the shit. Like what's going on in America today where this is, you know, this is the behavior now it's getting I don't want to use the word Glorified is the clickbait society right? Where everything has to be recorded. Even if you're incriminate, you know, incriminating yourself. Putting yourself behind bars, getting yourself quote unquote, canceled. But I got these clicks and views and will be behind bars, but I'm famous now.

Anthony:

I guess the same goes power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Yep. Like, the feeling of power is more powerful than power itself. Because you feel invincible and you feel, especially when you put you in a particular situation, like let's say, like you do violent crimes, or you are assaulting physically or sexually women, something like that, then these things occur. And then you put a particular team around you, and everything goes away, you feel untouchable, some good amount of people do learn from it. Some people don't some people continue along that path because like, well, I got this one, I got that one, no, pay a fine here. No, no probation here, community service there, and I'm good to go. The feeling is not the truth. And that's the whole problem. Like you're not powerful, you just happen to have more money than the average person does. With that become a particular responsibility, especially in that field. And like I say, you listen to a guy like Jeter, who, I wouldn't necessarily say that he went through his life without controversy. Well, I mean, the, to the degree of controversy that we're speaking of, there have been like innuendos and hints, and so on, so forth, but nothing really that ever, quite fully stuck to him. And that's kind of how he did it. If anybody's gonna listen, anybody should listen to him, because he was the best player in the biggest city in the world, who was on pretty much every gossip page every day of the week, and everything that kind of occurred, he still come out of it pretty much unscathed. You know, Abraham, part of the baseball team shit like that. The issues with guys like this, issue a situation like this, especially with Jonathan majors, I'm not even going to call like a power trip. Because right now, nothing from what I'm understanding from what the facts are, as of now, nothing truly occurred. Apparently, this happened. And because it happened in New York City, they have to charge with it because the person said, so even though 24 hours later that person recanted, they still have to do whatever it needs to do, which is odd enough all unto itself, I feel for him. Because if this is not true for someone to tarnish his name, and the problem with this is that he will always have to be carried that around, it's going to lead to some frustration and some anger because people are going to ask about that in the future. Even though nothing's come of it, you're going to keep kind of saying the charges were dropped, nothing occurred so on and so forth. Got to deal with that for a very long time. I feel for the woman that this occurred if it was just some kind of domestic dispute that got a little bit too far out of hand and that she felt violated or something else degree to feel that you know, police interaction above and had to occur. What I don't feel bad for two people that kind of put their thoughts and their feelings into a situation that does not concern them. That's an issue that was between Mr. Majors, the person who was with an acid, now we're going to find out the full scope of everything I'm going to assume soon enough, but I can't even say enough, it's enough because I don't think I have the power sway to really try to make people stop. I don't think that we just live in a society where people just they're so downtrodden by everything that the lack of opportunities housing, food, money, everything up to that like they just want to do anything to just be noticed to be seen. And whether it's by great means by you know, supporting charities or illegal means by beaten up to Kashi. The situation that you're gonna run into until we actually deal with the sickness of society like this is just wrong. Like we don't have to do this. Like your strength should come from your family should come from your work and you kind of call it in have a Good day with that and go on to the next thing you spend your time with the people you care about and the ones you love. And, you know, you have a ball of it. The fact that you got to film everything, you got to see everything. You got to do everything. Just to show it off for somebody else to show them what you're seeing or saying or doing. It's not a fucking concern. Like I, like, I don't mind people using social media, I got a problem. People use social media everyday like, like, you know how when you're a kid, your parents give you like, you have X amount of time to watch TV. Like at this point with social media, like you start catching people like yo, like, you have like a four hour limit today, like and that's it. And once you're locked in and runs out, you could try tomorrow, because like people are on line all the time. And then they're capturing everything all the time. And they have to feel that my opinion matters. It needs to be said it needs to be done. Everybody needs to hear. We don't we obviously don't care if you're funny. Sure. But that means you're probably comedian but if you just want to comment about every single thing that goes on everything is part of the world but says nothing about your own life is more about you than anything else. Deal with yourself. Show me the fun shit in your life instead of comment about everybody else's. Like I see way too much commentary about this man and about what he is or is not. When all honestly I do not care. And I don't understand why you should. Because of that man wasn't in the movie. That was number one, one week, the number one another. You're probably wouldn't care either. So the truth of the matter is leaving the fuck alone. Let things work out the way they're supposed to. And everybody goes on about their merry ways. And Happy Easter. Oh, yeah, that's right. Next week, next week. Which one do I have to wait a bit you're gonna forget like, Yeah.

Jeff:

Real quick, the you talk about people posting on social media all the time. Like the one shit that irks me is that you know, you know that one person who posts everything they're eating all day. Yeah, my sister. Oh, that's you're gonna have I have relatives that do the shit is what I'm having for breakfast. I'm having for dinner for lunch. All day. I'm like, yo, we everybody doesn't need to know what the fuck you're doing every second of the day, but I should have just so annoying to me. You

Anthony:

look at my smoothie. I don't care. FUCK IT'S movie. I have tea every morning. I get up at 530 every morning. I get myself set up. Turn on pot and put some water and have tea every morning is just settling. I don't show everybody like look, I got high biscuits today. How about green tea tomorrow? I don't give a fuck about your confidence. Shit. Like, I'm trying to go about my day. No, my kid. My sister does my sister does that incessant Lee? Every time we go to a wedding, take a picture just like no you don't. You seem to eat it seriously. Like, it's getting cold. Like, that's why they brought out hot. And now put it all together so we can take a good picture of it. Man, if you're gonna fuck up my plate. I'm hungry right now. I'm not waiting for you to like the poses shooting some posted up and she does it incessantly I do hate. We do share that in common that they bring it up the food, fucking eat the food. I don't really like when people do that whole, I need to post a picture of all this. And I mean, unless it's fire. And unless you're like, I'm I'm traveling to a different part of the country. And I found this food here and I want you guys to see it. Cool. But if you take a picture of like a sausage, egg and cheese McGriddle every morning, I'm just gonna like just delete you or delete or buy our products like just mute you for a while we didn't buy time for this shit.

Jeff:

Because like, nobody, fuck. It's like nobody lives in the moment, right? Nobody lives in the moment anymore because they busy worrying about capturing the moment like you want to capture the shit for everybody else's entertainment, or amusement or whatnot. But you yourself aren't enjoying the moment.

Anthony:

You're not I'm saying moments are supposed to be lived, not captured, but

Jeff:

nobody is right, but nobody's living them. They're just trying to capture them. And then throwing them in their photo roll or whatever. That's just called the camera roll and on to the next moment that they're going to capture.

Anthony:

And I'm like, Why? Why do you think people care? And you know, that's the best one. I love when people put up like the shit that they cook and look like it sucks. And I'd be like the pettiness in my soul wants to say something but the better part of me generally doesn't because I've seen some real struggle please I did or that should that should look appetizing. That chicken don't look season that macaroni look dried and the motherfucker that making look overcooked eggs look dry that that that see the burn marks around the edge of the pancakes. And they're like look, look what I did this year. It's so good. I'm like my fuck you don't want to get to eat and not know

Jeff:

what it is. It's this it's the social media generation but it's also the influencer generation right? You got people like the Logan Paul's who just performed at WrestleMania you have his brother you have who you know name your your influencer of the day. And these guys are millionaires just off of Tik Tok and YouTube videos. So now everybody aspires to be an influencer, right? Everybody has to post what they're doing all day what they're eating all day. What I mean

Anthony:

You know what, they pay them for that, right?

Jeff:

Most people aren't getting paid most people, right? 95% of the people in the world aren't getting paid to post their life. There's a small sector of these people that you know, that figured out how to, you know, do the algorithm the way it's supposed to, and monetize their shit on YouTube and whoever else

Anthony:

like you know, Spock intimates other 95

Jeff:

Right? The majority of the people out here are not that entertaining. You're not You're not You're not that interesting. Like, we don't care what you're doing. We're gonna care that you're driving and we're I see people posting they're driving to work listening to music, they're eating some shit. Driving back somewhere.

Anthony:

Yo, something like get on Twitter. Like I don't feel like sharing my opinions about them on the fuck is seriously I don't like I'll share with you all I share with you I share with my friends my family, but I don't like interacting with them because some people you from from what I understand from what you just learned about Twitter, some people you can get a good interaction good back and forth with some real conversation real dialogue. A lot of trolls. But yeah, it's a lot of people just sitting here hate and like, no, nobody got time for that man. Especially when you like you're anonymous. It's not like I can find you. And the whole thing is I'm not fighting about it. Oh, no shit on the internet, which happens entirely too much. Like I've seen people pull up and like post the address and actually get beat up. I'm like, why would you do that? Like that's stupid. Like you put in other people's lives in danger. What the fuck is wrong with like, your food sucks. Terrible.

Jeff:

You remember when cops had to actually do some digging and some investigation to find a motherfucker that had to go door to door you know, interview neighbors and talk to him and try to retrace steps and go on the streets and see if they can find some footprint and some car tracks and tire tracks. They don't have to do none of that shit anymore. They sit at their desk now police officers sit at their desk at the comfort of their desk with their coffee and their doughnuts. They don't have to leave the office. They just log on to the internet. And follow your every move. When you posted what you posted exactly where you're at. At what time you did what and they will catch your ass. And you commit some shit.

Anthony:

The reason why I laugh is because it's the murders of Tupac and Biggie. They did a shit today that should be solved in less than three days.

Jeff:

There should be solved immediately, bro. Somebody took some pictures. Somebody to yo they got the one picture of Tupac when he's in the car right? That's like the last picture that they took him imagine that shirt today bro that shit would have been posted all over social media, Tik Tok Snapchat and they would have been able to trace that picture to exactly what date and time and where location and everything

Anthony:

right then have a picture because everyone has the camera now you can video Yeah, events event somebody's recording the trip. Somebody saw a car falling to pop car. Somebody heard the sound of somebody getting shot and then somebody went it would have been easy like

Jeff:

and even and even then that picture took probably what days weeks to be released months even that should have been released instantly today

Anthony:

you know the problem back then because back then gotta get that shit developed.

Jeff:

You got to get to develop this it took a couple of days had to go to you got to release it to send it to some media outlet who's gonna print it out and put it on the newspaper or whatever I should, at least a week for all that shit to happen.

Anthony:

Somebody gets shot right now you go right to nj.com Cinema page, like, oh my gosh, I know x and x and be like, Oh, right there. That's a whole lot

Jeff:

of minutes. I shouldn't be up bro. Yo, the motherfucker that shot Tupac would have been on video recording the shit like yeah, got him, yo, I just got

Anthony:

the bug, that part is like, you know, allottee like, like, whatever issues that people might have with the police. And I have my own personal animus towards them. You probably shouldn't in any way, shape or form make their life easier, by like, pretty much solving the crime for them. Like if that incident shift, I could be a cop. Like, I just sit there online like well, so Microsoft's mission eventually. As a matter of fact, a perfect example of this. There was something I read it was a court case where something happened and these two people swore adamantly that they did not know each other and this lawyer was able to go on their social media see that they posted on each other's pages and like years before have put up a thing that like you know gorilla can't wait to meet up with you. Like you're making it easy for him like you're telling your whole world exactly what's happened and then you'll wonder Oh, I didn't do that like you put the evidence for them you make cops jobs like easier which which were making like police jobs easier but you'd probably pay them less like fellas we're doing the work for you. You just got to come arrest whoever like that we're going to tell for you. We're going to show you where the body is we're going to talk about the crime that we really just did. Like you don't have to do much investigation like just take like a little 10% cut off the top and put it on social services or mental health treatment or something else like that. Because these dudes are here really making crime like too simple to do. Like you literally see somebody get shot you can look around see what store what block what car what person every where it's silly. That's, that's a problem with like, like recording things, you have to give a context that will go back to John, The Matrix thing I believe eventually is going to be there's going to come up because he called an Uber instead of a no a taxi, Uber. And in New York, all taxis have the camera facing the back just in case, you know, a crime occurs. So a video will come out about that, eventually, in a provide context of what it is, when you see somebody saying, I'm not shooting smartphone right here in the corner and go ahead and shoot them off. And we're here in the corner. There's not much context in the video kind of explaining itself. But again, it's a problem that we have in a society where everyone needs to be seen or needs to be heard. Because the EMS decided that the underserved aren't heard enough to they got to find a way to make this happen. And also, like I said, the thing about influences they kind of find like a little cheat code to believe that this is the way that they can find a way to financial freedom and independence, not knowing that this rule is extremely and I mean extremely hard.

Jeff:

They got all types of movies and documentaries. And I like watching these shows to about you know, like, oh, somebody went missing somebody got kidnapped and they just find all the evidence they need just by going online right they go on their social medias, they follow who they spoke to they message this person where was he you know, and and they got like the entire movies like we're the whole the shit the whole shit is just a screen right? You see shit like that right?

Anthony:

Remember we talked about the Kathlyn don't yet yeah,

Jeff:

but they got it they got a whole bunch of unity they got a whole bunch of them just like that bro they got movies and they got documentaries like that with a whole movie takes place on the screen. And you see them off because emailing each other or checking the social medias and tracking this and tracking that until they solve the fucking mystery. It's

Anthony:

crazy. Yeah, oh my god. Yeah, it's a couple movies like that which like it's a bunch of screenshots like chats and stuff. And it's all like based literally around like the internet and you see all this going on in real time. This person's here didn't they was talking about somebody someone typed into like Facebook or Tik Tok some like that, like put on the screen name and seeing like their last location and all that like up yet like, I'm telling you, we make it we make fucking crime easy for these guys to solve. Like, you're gonna only put up your location, you take a picture, something that's pretty identifiable. You put like I'm at, you know, like, the thing that irritates me. Kind of irritates me, but also frightens me. Always. Me personally, I always tell my friends and family. If you're going away somewhere, take all of your pictures. When you're there. When you get back, say like, Jeff is going to Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. Like don't tell people you're gone when you're gone. Tell them when you come back. Because they're gonna think you're gone because they know you're gone.

Jeff:

Everything's in real time. Right? Everything's in real time.

Anthony:

Show all the pixels of your ship when you get back. Don't take no sort of pics of you on you in a whole nother country like oh my rockness my fucker days. Gone. But like, exactly. Like if you go into the Hulu store that's different. But if like if you're literally leaving somewhere, like you're flying to Miami or to Charlotte, or to Arizona or love, whatever, alright, put that shit up literally on your flight back like, like heading back from this place. But don't say you're going to because you're going to set yourself up to get wet. You don't want to do that. You can show all your pics and shit when you get back. I don't know why you need to live your life in real time on the internet. That's why when trying to Metaverse shit like it's failing, I thought what a stupid idea. Like real life was hard enough, I don't want to create a fake one. But that's not that didn't seem to be going too well for meta. But we keep doing these things. We keep allowing the Internet to be internet and social media to dictate our lives. Instead of it being the other way around. It should be a tool to connect with people to connect with opportunities, but not be ahead like spilling vitriol and hate. And it's a dangerous place. And like said those commentaries and things about society as is was kind of frustrating about the whole Jonathan major thing because whatever the fuck went on with them, whatever the fuck went on with them. And the fact that everyone needs to have an opinion about someone else's thing. Doesn't make a difference. Like we've had this discussion before. I don't really care about wheeling, Jada. But the only reason we discuss it because they put this on live TV in front of everybody else I didn't hear but we had to talk about it because now it's a thing. But Chris Rock and in his comedy special it became a thing because he talked about it on stage with the slap it happened on stage. If they had problems with each other personally outside of that, I wouldn't care. I wouldn't talk about it because that's the thing. But the fact that you put it out into the world it becomes a topic of discussion. This is even a type of discussion this is right now between Jonathan ages and whoever this might be is an incident that has occurred that the person has no retracted and it might not be big thing at all, but everybody to talk about it. You don't really need to talk about it at all. No to me.

Jeff:

And let's take the let's go back real quick before moving forward. The Barbie Bassett for shizzle my nizzle situation is that

Anthony:

Now, that's why I'm taking it out of context,

Jeff:

just whites for webbing and white for white being white, and white.

Anthony:

And that's the whole thing when you do that you're walking a real thin line. Because if you say that you got to have the ability to put what you're saying, in context to explain what you were trying to do. That doesn't mean I'm going to accept it. But we should give a reason the rationale behind it even that reason, the rationale may possibly be stupid. But in reality, it's just the fact that we allow people to take entirely too much on this culture. And like I said, we popularize it, they monetize it. And then once they feel they monetize it, they can kind of do whatever they want with it. Not saying that there should be some type of retribution for the things that you've seen you do. If it's their first time saying it, she can get that apology off. But no, having having a grand mammy thing first, then doing this, you did not learn the lesson the first time. You're still trying to you know, find humor in a culture that we've created and inspired and influenced around the world. Just you say some dumb shit on your little newscasts. Hope you enjoyed the unemployment line, man.

Jeff:

Let's move on. No, speaking of technology taking over shit. What you know about these AI? You know, these these AI replacing rappers out here? Have you seen the show?

Anthony:

Chat with the chat? GTP and you like that?

Jeff:

Yo, yeah. There's a gentleman by the name of Roberto Nixon. He's a tech entrepreneur. He just recently released a video and shit. Where he, he makes he writes a rap. And then he chooses what voice he wants the rap to sound like and he uses he chooses Kanye West, right? And this just sounds like Kanye West, spitting around. And I'll put I'll put the link in the show notes so people can see what the fuck I'm talking about. It's impressively realistic imitation of the real Yeezy spitting bars is what the shirt says. And is this going to be the future? Are we going to have aI replacing rappers? Or you know, like, Yo, Kanye? Can I get your permission to use your voice? I sure you're gonna shoot him a few $1,000 You write the rhyme. You use his voice, he put it you can put any rapper on your own any song now. And he tweeted, he tweeted and just like that the music industry is forever changed. I recorded a verse and had a trained AI model of Kanye replace my vocals, the results will blow your mind utterly incredible.

Anthony:

It won't replace right? Well, it's simple. It won't. Because you cannot teach art. You cannot teach skill. You cannot teach a motion. You cannot teach in flexion you cannot teach thought you give something to a machine that you created. But you created it to have a particular pattern so on and so forth to imitate something but it's not created. You have the voice of Kanye sure we all have the voice current you can record anywhere you can make it you can make that happen anytime you want. You can do it any rapper you want to. But can you have that machine? Right? An amazing 16 Well, can you can you have it flow over over different beats and flows and verses? No, I don't think so. The problem is you're gonna run into you can't did the art you can't? Like no one can have.

Jeff:

That's not what this does. What does it do? The guy writes the verse and he records it himself. But then his voice gets replaced by whatever rapper he wants.

Anthony:

Right? But what if the word of the verse is shit?

Jeff:

Then it's fucking shit. Right?

Anthony:

And then you're gonna get through but use my voice without my permission. I want everything that you own, including funky ass machine. He goes. You can try to fake it. You can do whatever you want to. But yeah, but just start

Jeff:

with something, bro. Because if you're across the world, and you know Jay Z doesn't want to fly to where you're at, you'll just send me the this is how much I charge. I'm gonna send you I'm gonna write some brands down. You do whatever you want. You record it, you know, whatever. So like, you're gonna just pay somebody now to write the shit. Like Jay just write it for me just write me the verse. How much you pay to just be a ghostwriter. But um, you know, I'm not going to pick you know, I'm not going to pay you to make you travel to me and come in the studio and spend hours recording and none of that is going to be simplified. Now you just write it send it over to me. And I said, I'll put it into the AI he'll spit it and he'll sound like you. You can't say it's a wack verse because you wrote it.

Anthony:

Yeah, but I think that's if anybody's going to do that. It's going to be lower tier artists. I don't think I'm thinking put your blood sweat and tears in this and really work so hard to get that lazy. Like, like to to get the tear of wrappers that you might be thinking of that would try something like this They've gone and they've sacrificed literally entirely too much time, effort family to be like, Well, I'm just gonna go ahead and let this machine do it. For me, the whole purpose of the art form was to dismiss that kind of thing to say that you can't popularize, you can't create, you can't do the things that we do. Because Can't nobody do it like us, they're going to try to. And the thing, there's, there's another thing about the AI system, there was one thing that they did. It's a study, I'll find it for you not in the team, where they were trying to use AI in regards to policing. And they noticed that the AI tended to be a tad bit racist. Because you got to remember, even though it's a machine, someone's creating the algorithm and sending a particular patents. So if that person happens to be bias, at least racist at worse, they're going to tend to No, put that into the machinery itself. Now, the whole thing of trying to create a verse, it's hard enough, you try to do a 16, it ain't easy. So to think that anyone could do it on the tear, even if you put someone's voice to it, like if you wrote a 16 right now, and you put nice voice to it, how fast you think now is gonna own your house.

Jeff:

I might get some type of letter in the mail in a couple of days.

Anthony:

Here from the mortgage company like this, this property belongs to Naseer Jones, trust me, and letting the chips slide.

Jeff:

It's not gonna even gonna sound like anything he would spit, right? It's not gonna say anything he would he would say,

Anthony:

exactly. And that's the whole thing. You can get my voice but can you get my flow? Like my storytelling, I'm not gonna be able to put words together that he can't. Exactly. So like, like, he's saying like, this is going to change it. You know, I always hate when people say like, this is a game changer. No, the fuck it's not. It's not the only thing that actually is the game changer in reality, is that the only way that actually kind of digressive, the way that society goes forward is to make things lazier. It's like, that's how society pushes to try to make things quote unquote, easier for people. Because I was bitch about kids not going to library because they got the phones now. Like, they don't know how to do decimal system like we do. We have like dictionaries like dictionaries and encyclopedias like we had to use all the time. That's the way it goes. I always say that the greatest invention after the television was the remote because you don't have to get up and turn the fucking TV anymore. To do it from the remote. Now you have remote, we can really talk into it and it can turn the TV for you and have to press a button. Is it laziness, it's

Jeff:

simply it's getting lazy and lazy,

Anthony:

right? But this art form itself, hip hop itself, it's impossible to be lazy. When you are, you might be able to scam people and be successful for a period. You cannot do it forever. That's why hip hop is filled with a bunch of you know, one hit wonders and guys that had like an album and then that was it. Because we know what's real. Eventually, if you're good at this, and you'll stick around. If you're not, you'll disappear or you'd be doing your fucking song at carnival shows around the country like find out some other bullshit like that. But it doesn't happen because it's a matter. That's a triviality of hip hop itself. We we are a bunch of things all the time we express our pain I love our joy through our music. And I don't think a program no matter who was was on top of it, it's ever going to be able to replace that they're going to attempt to they're going to attempt to but it just won't work. It's a cute this is really cute with a guy said thing that is going to change Hip Hop auto itself. This is going to be different. Not just you just using the voice of some weak ass right and that's about it. And this will be here there's gonna be another story than to go away eventually. But it was a good attempt on his part. But Hip Hop always been true to his nature is bars, rhythms and rhymes. If you ain't got that and you guys hit

Jeff:

me we are living in a tone deaf society. But Serena Williams said, I am lucky that whatever fear I have inside me my desire to win is always stronger. Yes, sir. The culture go to the website of the culture dot one we'll see you next time. Peace
